This. I don't follow football but from my understanding, the Skins usually lose while the Ravens are quite good. Bound to make an impact on acquiring new fans.

You were never really a real fan if you switch teams!

You could probably count the number of Colts fans who became Redskins fans on one hand and have a finger or two left over. Not one Colts fan that I knew became a Redskins fan. Most that I knew started following their other favorite teams more closely, particularly Philadelphia and Oakland. I began paying more attention to the St. Louis Football Cardinals. Having the CFL Stallions for a couple of years was cool, but it clearly was not an adequate substitute for an NFL team.

One side of my family switched to the 'Skins. The other side never really picked up another team, they just sorta watched football sometimes when it was on.

Not so much with Howard Co. You don't just magically cross the line from Baltimore Co. into Howard and it suddenly becomes Redskin fans all over.

Howard County seems mixed to me while leaning more towards the Ravens. But other than that, I agree with MrMaryland's assessment.

St. Mary's and Calvert Counties as well. Frederick County has a significant Skins base and I'm also willing to bet that there are more Steelers fans than Ravens fans in FredCo.
