Hi all. Any input would be helpful. My daughter is re-locating to Md.from NJ to begin an internship near Catonsville. She wants to be in a nice area, but close to Baltimore for sporting events, nightlife, shopping, etc. She doesn't mind a 15-20 minute commute. She needs a 2 BR that accepts pets with a budget of $1100-1300. Thanks for any input. Oh, and she is on her honeymoon now and has to be in by Aug. 1st., so I am just lending a hand.

Catonsville is the nicest area she can get fitting her requirements. Ellicott City would be nicer than Catonsville, but I think her budget is too limited. Owings Mills or Pikesville are other possibilities, but again her budget is probably too limited. Tell her to avoid Woodlawn or Gwynn Oak. Windsor Mill might be possible, but some places are decent and others are not so.

Catonsville is nice. I live in Ellicott City, close by. Both areas are very nice. Both towns sponsor small town events like spring and fall music festivals, monthly events (lie block parties) and have some good places to eat and 'party'. Catonsville almost has a retro feel to it lately (in a good way).

Historic Ellicott City Main Street is an old mill town famous for being the first rail station in the US. An apartment there could be fun.

I would not be so ready to run up to Balt. for all your entertainment.
