Planning a relocation to MD from NC and trying to get a realistic idea of the commute from the Pasadena peninsula area off the 100 to Ft Meade. Any info is greatly appreciated as this will help in our search..

15-20 minutes at best. It's definitely easy.

I'm looking for the commute times for morning/evening when everyone else is out on the roads. google estimates the drive at almost 30 w/o traffic so 15-20 doesn't sound right. i'm using a starting point at Chesapeake High School and assuming best route is across the 100 to the 174. How bad does the traffic get on the 100 during rush hours?

That commuter during the rush hours- and around here that means most of the day- will be around 30 minutes. Coming from that peninsula area, your road choices are limited due to the water. 100 is going to be your best bet, then probably 97 or 295 to 32 to Ft Meade. 32 at the base gets very congested every day at rush hour, and there is really no alternative.

I would suggest checking Google maps from point to point daily, at your commuting times, to see the commute times. If you do this for a week, you will have a good idea of your commute.
