Marylanders sound like a Muppet can't even understand some of them. They sound just like the swedish chef on the muppets. Strangest accent I've ever heard.

I swear this is all I hear when I hear a Marylander with a thick MD accent

No. But I do get a little sick to my stomach when people misspell words like nauseous.

Of all the things people can do that might be worthy of judgment or condemnation or censure or criticism or any other negative reaction, speaking in the accent they grew up hearing around them is way, way down on the list. So far down as to be imperceptible.

Sorry; not from Maryland (Coloradoan here) & I can't watch the video because my computer is ridiculous ...

I just wanted to say I personally LOVE accents. I wish I had one (some people say people from Colorado do but I can't hear it) just because they are cool.

Interesting. Born and raised in Maryland and I've been told many times that I have no accent. Of course I grew up just a few miles outside of DC. However, I have noticed people from Maryland that sound like they have a "country" accent. I've noticed this more often in the men than the women.

I notice pronunciations are different for some people in MD; For example, "parents" as "perrrants." Is that what you're referring too?
