Does anyone have suggestions of things to do with a few hours of your day in and around Anne Arundel County? Let's split it up to say you have 1 hour or 3 hours free time. Any suggestions for either of those?

City Dock is a decent place in the Spring and Summer when the ego boats are docked.

Going out on a charter fishing boat.

Those are pretty good suggestions. City Dock is a 1 hour thing to do and a chartered fishing boat is at least a 3 hour thing, maybe 5 hour!

Tour the Naval Academy grounds. In particular, visit the USNA Museum, and pay respects to John Paul Jones in his crypt beneath the USNA chapel.

How long would touring USNA take? Is that real, there is a crypt beneath the USNA chapel?

Yeah, I think so. If memory serves, JPJ's casket is held aloft by four carved dolphins, really cool in that macabre sort of way.

As for what to do in AA county? Annapolis! It is a wonderfully walkable city with at least enough activities to occupy a weekend. Even without a strict itinerary, I am never at a loss for things to do there.

It can take a half an hour or all day. But you have to walk. Visitors have not been able to drive onto the grounds for several years. You must walk through Gate #1 and show ID.

Indeed, the remains of John Paul Jones are encrypted beneath the USNA chapel.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Here's what it looks like if you want a preview.

Westfield Annapolis Mall, and Arundel Mills Mall, are the two largest malls in the State.

The WB&A Trail is a long bicycle/ pedestrian path, paralelling Route 2 (Ritchie Highway).

Allen Pond park in Bowie, MD is a pleasant place to walk around, and also has a year-round Ice Rink.

The National Cryptologic Museum at NSA Fort Meade, some people claim is better than the International Spy Museum in D.C.
