hello. we are considering many options but mainly we are looking to get out of NJ. We would like something lower cost of living, good schools and safe. i know so does everyone right!

i would like to live in a nbhood or an area that is close to a "main street" i am starting from scratch here but any suggestions of towns to research would be great.

married, with 3 kids 5 and under

The OT suggested a place with a "Main Street" feel to it. I don't think Columbia nor Laurel qualify.

Laurel has a historic Main Street (antique shops, homes, restaurants). Buildings are 100+ years old. Kinda quaint and the victorian homes are very nice. However, that is only a very small part of Laurel which is now sprawling out in many directions.

North East, MD has a nice Main Street with antique shops and restaurants. It is also on the North East River. I would add links, but I can't figure out how to get them to show correctly yet.
