I've been thinking about creating a documentary regarding the East Coast 1%er club scene for a while and such a documentary wouldn't be complete without featuring the club I'll be mentioning below . I actually used to know some of its members FWIW when I was a teen in Delaware , even saved what's referred to as a courtesy card , which is why I'm asking about their Eastern Shore presence what with it being close to Delaware .

I won't be posting their genuine name in keeping with usual courtesy protocol , but it rhymes with the word Reagan's .

What is the 1% club? Never head of it.

1% club. Usually referring to motorcycle clubs. It comes from the generally bad reputation they have and a statement many years ago that only 1% of the members are criminals.

Good enough explanation:

My friends and I actually got unofficially banned from Dewey Beach for lighting fires in restricted areas ...

Kinda hard to believe I suppose , but the cop who told us to put it out also told us that we wouldn't be welcome in his patch anymore , so we took that as a plain invitation to never return .

While the link posted by NBP contains the basic definition of a 1% MC , it's important to note that no single 1% club in the States has been conclusively proven to be a criminal organization , official DOJ definitions notwithstanding . In fact not even most chapters of most ( if any ) 1% clubs have been proven to continually engage in criminal enterprise and that goes for individual members as well .

In short the ethos of 1% clubs concerning the law is to break it for the hell of it if it happens to conflict with their view of a good time , as opposed to breaking it for profit like certain over zealous members of law enforcement would have you believe .
