I can remember when we had cold winter days that lasted. I can also remember mild days. We had some cold as hell days in the last decade, but they were one day events. Single digit highs. I can definitely remember days were the highs were much colder for longer periods of time.
Still, Winters here are not that cold. People whine about 40, but love 85 with the mid summer sun pounding the crap out of the from above, mosquitos biting the sh*t out of them, you can't walk 200 feet with out breaking a mild sweat. Garbage weather!
The biggest problem with Winter is melting snow that freezes as ice at night. Since most drive it's mostly a problem for the elderly.
Another problem with winter is idiots wearing shorts and sandals when it's 40 degrees. I hope you don't break down on the highway somewhere.

I can only imagine how tough it'll be to maintain my garden this year with all of the "bad" bugs that have survived this warm winter . I've seen stinkbugs out and about this whole winter

Yeah, I had thought the same. And mosquitoes as well as Japanese beetles.

Also, plants that need X number of hours of freezing weather won't fruit or flower as well, if at all.

Thanks. I first saw it Saturday night. What was weird was somebody was grilling and I could smell it. I was like what the hell can they be cooking.

Amazing it came this far north.
