What would be commute time from 9-5 Monday - Friday from silver spring to columbia? It is about 24 miles

The google maps estimate isn't trustworthy any longer?
While you're there dill down to street-view on the map and then drive up US29 for yourself.

Easily an hour one-way most days. Silver Spring traffic can be horrible.
