Hi everyone,

I recently accepted a job offer in Linthicum Heights that I will be starting at the end of June and wanted to reach out for some suggestions of where to live distance wise.

I would prefer to live in a house or townhouse (I've gotten used to nobody above or below me) and I am budgeting around $2100 with off street parking.

I would prefer my average commute to be around 20 minutes max. If there are occasional days where its a little longer that isn't a huge deal, but I would prefer it not to average near 30 minutes.

I am in my late 20s with no children so schools aren't a huge deal for me. I would prefer to live somewhere out of the city with a little more greenery and fewer concerns about crime as my partner is rather anxious.

I am mostly looking at Severn, Hanover, Elkridge Dorsey, southern Glen Burnie on the southern side, and Halethrope, Catonsville, and Arbutus on the northern side. I am not sure how much further I can go out without the commute getting too long.

From what I have gathered online it seems like most rentals are posted around 3-6 weeks out from the availability date, is this normal for the area? I have mostly been using Zillow and Trulia to look for rentals. Craigslist and Facebook marketplace seem to be mostly scams / rent to own schemes. Are there any other platforms I should consider for finding houses/townhouses in the area?

Thanks!
LM

Don't overlook Linthicum Heights itself, Linthicum, or Ferndale.
