There were signs everywhere to wear masks. I think maybe 50% of the people were doing that.

Social distancing was thrown out of the window. It was impossible to do that.

I live 20 miles from OC, and have avoided it all summer.

I hesitated about going. But I guess it was better than watching my kids being stuck in the house all summer.

So you post about something you yourself did with your family yet complain about others doing it?

The problem is not what you do, but how you do it. There are easy, comfortable ways to responsibly live a normal life during an event like this. I have not let the pandemic keep me or my family from doing the things we enjoy doing. But it is aggravating when the others there simply just do not give a crap about anyone else. I have had to... correct.. some other people's behavior in public a few times. Though I am sure they only adhere to my "advice" for as long as I am within eyesight.

Heck, I'm looking forward to the Ravens games at 1/10 capacity. Always hated being in a sardine can

Poster never said they was part of that big crowd. OP could have seeing it from his hotel or from one of the roads.

We've seen these crowds all summer, should be obvious that a certain segment of our population is just not going to behave

Why Ocean City?

Bethany

Rehoboth

Cape May?

And lastly why near/on the boardwalk. What the hell is the fascination with the boardwalk on here.......

Rehoboth is a bit crowded too. You're correct in that there are other places up and down the eastern shore to visit without all the crowds. For example the inlets have quiet areas to visit and there's plenty of water behind the boardwalks without all the crowds. My wife and I find off the beaten paths to visit as far as drinks, food, sitting on the beaches, both ocean and bays.

I also went to Chincoteague Island Beach on one of the days. It was a considerable drive but I had never been there before.

FWIW, Ocean City appears to have more water activities than other mid-Atlantic beaches. This time, we refrained from all of that though.

big difference between OC/Rehoboth and Bethany. They call Bethany the Quiet Resort, you don't see any riff raff there, they don't bus people in from urban east coast cities and it's more upscale. Big signs coming into town there that masks are mandatory and they will hand you a mask if you don't have one and tell you to put it on.
