Go to Gazette.net and choose Prince George's. You will be able to look at crimes that have been reported in the different districts. Beware down here or you will up city chicken in the buggy!

My husband and I own a house in downtown Silver Spring, and it's a great place to live. If you can live near the red line you can get anywhere you need in DC. Great place for young people to live, and the downtown area has been revitalized and has plenty of restaurants, theatres, bars, etc. You need to be careful anywhere you live on the outskirts of DC but I walk alone at night in Silver Spring and feel incredibly safe.

I dont mind a commute as long as it is reasonable. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Anne Arundel County is nice...check Annapolis, Crofton, areas...they're not far from PG County.

Howard County is another alternative: Columbia is nice.
