I'm considering a move to Columbia and would potentially be working in Baltimore. My car isn't the newest and I would be concerned about making the commute every day with it. Are there any services like bus/rail that run daily between the two? Are they expensive? Thanks!

Reconsider the plan.

Live near to work.
Limit those (50x5x2) 500 known commutes as much as possible.

I was without a car for a few months, yet still had to commute to Baltimore. If you are going in the AM during a time of typical morning commute, there are a few commuter busses you can take. Same with the PM. Keep in mind that these busses only run during typical "rush hour" times.

Other than that, you can take one of the local busses to a Silver bus connection, then take the Silver to BWI where you will hop on the Light Rail. I had to do this a few times. It can take up to three hours just to get to Baltimore.

The MTA's Route 310 bus operates between Columbia and Baltimore. If you work daytime hours, it is a good option.

???

You do realize that Columbia is nowhere near 50 miles from Baltimore, yes?

I think he is saying 50 weeks a year x 5 days a week x 2 trips a day. The factor is the frequency and consistancy of the trips not particularly the miles of each trip
