My husband and I are moving from NJ to MD he is military and will be stationed at Annapolis Naval Academy. I am so clueless on what city to move, he will drive 30-45 miles away from where ever we decide to reside. Were African American who love city like living. We have a 7 yr old who very smart, and we are certainly looking for great school systems where we would be 100% welcome...HELP!!!! (looking to rent not purchase) Hint: I like the style of COLUMBIA, OWINGS MILLS... but a little more private.

Only DC, Baltimore and Annapolis, to a small extent, will provide you a true city living experience. Alternatively, there's suburban communities such as Crofton, Bowie, Odenton, Upper Marlboro, Prince Frederick and Severna Park nearby.

As NJ2M stated, you won't find that many true "city living experiences". If you're looking for diversity, I'd imagine there might be some in Annapolis. You'll definitely find it in Columbia and the Piney Orchard area of Odenton.
