We are considering moving from VA to Annapolis for a number of reasons. Does anyone take the bus from Riva Road to DC? Looks like it might take 1.5 hours door-to-door (i.e., home to park & ride to bus stop), but can anyone who does it now confirm?

Also, does anyone carpool / rideshare from Annapolis to DC? If so, how long does it take during rush hour and do you recommend a service to connect w/ other commuters?

A colleague does the bus and likes it as she can snooze or sleep as opossed to dodging highway madness. 1.5 hours door to door is about right.

No idea about carpool/rideshares. Another alternative is to split the difference and drive to New Carrolton Metro. Parking spaces fill up fast though.

Some of my neighbors use Dillion's Bus to commute to Washington DC and seem to like it Dillon's Bus Service (http://www.dillonbus.com/schedule_info.asp - broken link)

Rather go fishing: BUT...
Commuter bus is the way to go. Otherwise HOV lane is a must with at least 2 in the car during rush hour traffic.
Consider moving to areas like Riva at Exit 22 on Route 50; don't do Annapolis and never on the Eastern Shores for commuters. Typically Route 50 backs up to exit 22 for Bay bridge traffic.

Ps: oops, just noticed I'm answering to an old post

You're going to get sick of that commute awfully fast...I suggest either staying where you are or better yet finding a job near Annapolis. (Annapolis>>>>>Virginia).
