I'm looking at taking a trip to Ocean City the week of June 29-July 3 with my family, have 2 kids, ages 2 and 7, but I'm not sure if OC is still overrun with partying high school seniors by then. Probably not a good idea to be there with young kids if its going to be filled with drunk teenagers.... We're looking at staying at the Francis Scott Key on Rt 50 in West Ocean City, across the bay....anyone know if that week will be safe?

You should be safe that week, usually senior week is the week of grad and the week after. Grad is usually the second week of June, the third week is also Firemen's convention but by the time you go all of that should be over.

I did a couple of beach weeks back in the day. Had a helluva good time. But no way would I bring my family now. The kids are not bad. Just loud and crazy. And very drunk.

As a former senior weeker I can tell you that you are hitting the tail end of "senior week" with your time frame. Many high schools graduate easily 2 weeks into June. Some people take a week or so gap before heading to OC for another week. The most clear end to the senior week time frame is July 4th weekend. Prices get higher for that time and kids want a cheap vacation. You will probably see a few crazy kids there at your time but certainly not the peak amount.

You'll be fine at that time. You will avoid the drunk kids and the drunk firemen.

If some seniors go for more than a week yes but usually by the end of June most of the rowdy's are gone, some may be there with parents but that is about it.

I would also have to think that most of the partiers are not staying across the bridge...most of them I would guess want to stay close to the beach and boardwalk.

I have been in Ocean City for 21 years and you'll be safe that week, everyone is usually gone. This year the senior crowd was not as large as in past years. Usually you see "no vacancy" everywhere, this year that was not the case.

You'll still run into crowds. The only convention that week is the MD Municipal League, several hundred people, but they'll be at the Convention Center through Wed. Don't try to eat at Phillips By The Sea on the boardwalk Monday evening 6/29, the Eastern Shore elected officials always reserve it for then. The state Firefighter's Convention ended the 19th.
