I will be graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree in finance in May 2010. I’ve worked in the accounting field in one way or another (mostly Accounts Receivable and Bookkeeping) for the last 5 years, and by the time I graduate I will have 1 ½ years experience as an accountant (internship) in the oil and gas industry. I currently am living in Dallas, Texas (born and raised in Houston), but am looking to move to the east coast after graduation. I have quite a few friends on the east coast and am looking for a new experience for my life. I know the cost of living is dramatically higher and MD is culturally different than Texas. I would like to know what the job market in like in the accounting/finance sector in MD? Any help would be much appreciated.

If you have high grades, you should go to the recruiting dept at your college and see if you can recruit on campus with accounting firms. Tell them you want to relocate to DC/Maryland. Although "referrals" to another office are hard to get with the economy right now, you might get lucky.
