I have been commuting from Columbia, MD to George Washington University for class during non-rush hour. I need a better route! If I have to drive up and down 16th Street one more time I'm going Columbine!

So I've been taking 29 to Colesville Rd to 16th to Columbia Ave to 23rd... Mapquest says to take 295 to US-50 to NY Ave--hell no! I once spent an hour on NY Ave and only moved two blocks. Even if its better during non-rush hour, I'm permanently traumatized.

29 to 495 to something??? might be a good idea (non-rush hour) but mapquest won't tell me how to do it. Somebody said I could take Rock Creek Pkwy--how do I do that from MD? I guess I should look at a map but modern technology has rendered me cognitively incapable of reading a map. My gender doesn't help either.

What's the best way to do this? I'll be driving there mid to late afternoon and returning about 9pm.

Thanks so much!!
