Maybe this info would help.... my hubby's 2 friends share a $1,3500 - 3 bedroom apartment in Owen Brown Place apartments in Columbia. They are pretty happy with the service. You can call Owen Brown and ask if their rate for a 1 bedroom studio apartment.

It's not furnished but you can go to Ikea and buy a sofa bed. If you don't need the sofa, just buy a mattress from Costco(they give out 1 day pass).

The place I will be working for has no physical address in Maryland. I'll be working out of where I live. They may open an office in a short while. They suggested Columbia as a good central location. But I'm not tied to it. I just need to be in a good location to be able to get to Delaware, Virginia and DC.

Look to the north, up Route 32, at towns like Dayton, Clarksville, Glenelg, West Friendship, Cookville, Woodbine, Mount Airy, even into Frederick or Sykesville or Eldersburg. BTW, the mapquest map for Columbia, MD has the red star in the wrong place; IMO the red star belongs where Rt 29 and Rt 32 meet, which is an area Mapquest calls Simpsonville. Columbia does cover a pretty large area, is pretty pricey. These areas along the I-70 corridor put you in a good spot for getting to Delaware.

EDIT: A location in Frederick puts you in a good spot to commute to all 3 areas.

Don't rule out something in Elkridge, Relay, St Denis, Arbutus, Halethorpe, Lansdowne, Catonsville, Savage, Severn, etc. These are better for commuting to DC and VA on the I-95 corridor (yucky traffic) and aren't bad for Delaware either.
