Ok, I am moving to Maryland on August 22nd. Relocating from Michigan. What are the chances of getting a furnished apartment for $700 in the Columbia area? Doesn't need to be fancy. Just clean and in a safe area. Also don't want a long lease. If the new job doesn't work out for some off chance, I don't want to be stuck. Should end up being an 8-12 month stay. I'm 45, and am looking for something on the more quiet side.

Maybe check Craigslist.

I don't know the economy there, but you could probably get a room in a house share for that or less.

At least that would hold you over until you found what you were looking for.

Good luck.

The only place that meets your criteria is a storage unit.

Take a look at what the rent is going at in Columbia, MD. Be sure you're sitting in a sturdy chair first.

I doubt you'll find anything in that price range, especially furnished.

Umm... I am moving in spet. to Columbia.. And let's put it this way. My 1 bedroom is 1300.. and that is without utilies. Columbia is expensive but you get what you pay for. 700 yes I def. agree you will be living in a bathroom. I would try Ellicott City or maybe Laurel.. You may find something there. There a little less cheaper.. but not by very much
Good luck

I'm pretty much open to anything within 30 miles or so of Columbia. Finding a few apartments unfurnished in my range.

Just curious. Why are you choosing Columbia. Is that where your new job is going to be?
