The rumors are out there. This store does half their business from Martinsburg WV residents so it stands to reason that they will close up shop right after Christmas.Oh well,it will be no great loss.Maybe COSTCO could move in there?

I highly doubt it. Hagstertown has a sizable population.

However, I hear rumors there will be a Wal-Mart in eastern panhandle, maybe that's what has been contributing to the closing of Target in Hagerstown?

I think the Target in Hagerstown is a dump compared to great new Targets around the country.

That really sucks because Wal-Mart destroys small communities.

A dump is putting it mildly. You should try working there. It was the pits and management is a joke. They need to do an investigation on some of them.

The extreme commuters destroyed it first.

All the retail stores in Washington County probably receive 1/3 to 1/2 of their business from Martinsburg area residents. The people here love to shop and Hagerstown is extremely convenient. I don't see any stores ever closing over there, but I'm sure the business will taper off some at Target, Dick's, Best Buy, etc. since they opened up in the Burg.

Sales in Hagerstown Target were always last in the district before Martinsbirg opened a store. Now they are at an all time low.Look for a closing announcement sometime after Christmas.

Hey Reesey: Any more word on this? I've been there like four or five times in the last month, and some of those nights the place was packed. Sure seems like they are doing good business, but what do I know? Maybe people are not buying anything?
