Hi Friends,

I'm staying in Columbia, MD and wish to go to New Jersey on 4th Sep 09.
Please suggest ways for travel.

You can either take Amtrak or Drive. What aprt of NJ would you be going to. I am relocating from NJ to Columbia.. Driving is about 3 1/2 hours depending on traffic. Amtrak can cost about 200 or less if you book early. Like now

Take Amtrak. Amtrak's high speed Northeast Regional operates very frequently between DC and New York and stops at Trenton, Princeton, Metropark (Iselin), New Brunswick, and Newark in New Jersey. The closest station to Columbia would be BWI Airport Amtrak/MARC station, which is about 15 min away. As NJ08 said, book early.

Continental also has frequent service (5-6 rt a day) between BWI and Newark. Driving can take 1.5 to 3 hours with no traffic depending on where you're headed. The NJ Turnpike can really be hell though,
