Hello Everyone.

A New York wife and Irish husband made a mistake moving to Miami. No judgement there, just not for us and our six year old child.

So, my husband has the opportunity to have this job in Wash DC. Well, to be exact the company is in Upper Marlboro MD. He is in Sales, so mostly his car will be his office.

Our salary will be okay (better when I get employment - artist). But, I was wondering about areas around there would suit us.

We need a great schools, a good community for my child (1st grade). We need an interesting environment (we love to walk, sail, swim, horseback, go to independent films, good food(love farmer markets) and wine), hopefully things are convenient to us. Yes, from NYC, but wouldn't mind a artistic, quaint peaceful life if Washington DC and good schools are near (we need major airport, since we go home to Europe a lot).

Are there areas you would say we should live in?
Would so appreciate - Thanks -

Annapolis has all the things you mentioned that you enjoy...but it is quite expensive for the most part. If price is an issue, you could try some communities in Arnold or Glen Burnie

Default Md

I would tell you to look into Crofton/Odenton. It's a bit closer to Upper Marlboro from a drive perspective.

In addition, I would def. recommend Severna Park & Pasadena way before Glen Burnie. The schools in GB are subpar at best.
