I was wondering if parents with kids who go to (including feeder schools) Old Mill HS can weigh in here.

How do you like the school, teachers, administrators? It's the biggest high school in AA county but has a good student-teacher ratio.

How would you compare it with, let's say, Severna Park schools??

Thanks!

Old Mill High School is a decent school, but it does not compare at all with Severna Park High. Severna Park High has better test scores. Check out greatschools.net.

Thanks lau3. I agree that Old Mill does not compare to SP but what I'm looking for are other reasons (other than test scores) that one would not send their kids to Old Mill. The issue I'm having is all of the school "ranking" sites (greatschools, schooldigger, etc.) is they only look at the combined test scores and do not take into any other indicators of a "good" school. I agree that test scores are important indicators, but not the only one.

Anyone out there who sends their kids to Old Mill, can you chime in?

Thanks!!!

Default Old Mill South

My oldest just started Old Mill South. We looked at houses in the SP school district and it was more than we could afford. But coming from NC, Old Mill South is a good school. The kids get to choose different classes to take, plus the kids can take two after school clubs a week. My son likes it so far, very much.
