Hello there, my husband and I are planning to relocate to Annapolis MD from Virginia Beach, VA. My husband is enlisted navy and just received orders to transfer to the Naval Academy so we will be moving in January 2010. We are relatively familiar with the annapolis area since we both grew up in Southern Maryland (St Marys County) and used to travel to Annapolis to go to the mall. My parents still live in St Marys and we would like to be as close to them as possible, while still maintaining proxomity to the naval academy. Dont want to be too far of a hike for the hubby everyday. We were originally interested in finding an apt complex in calvert county, somewhere between annapolis and st marys, but havent found anything in that search. Can anyone please recommend NICE apt complexes, townhomes, homes TO RENT only, that are in annapolis or the surrounding area, away from major crime? thanks again

I'd recommend that you take a look at the rental section of Homesdatabase, which is the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) for the area.

HomesDatabase - Home for Sale and Rent in DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania

Keep in mind that just because a real estate office advertises a listing, it doesn't mean they will be the property manager. In some cases the owner will be your landlord.

Good luck.

I live in Annapolis and around here, the homes and condos that are decent get snatched up quick. There are plenty of apartment rentals but I none that I would recommend. You will probably have to look at apartments in Annapolis as opposed to townhomes or condos.
