Hi,

I'm traveling from Maryland to Philadelphia for an interview on a Monday this month. I checked yahoo maps, and wanted to know if there was some site or some way to find out what the traffic would be like on a weekday. I know I-95 North is always busy, and my concern is that a traffic jam or accident
will become a problem.

I have to leave approximately at 7 am to arrive at 10 am in Philadelphia.

Some questions are:

1.What is the traffic from Maryland to Philadelphia? Rate (1-5, 5 being horrible)
2.Are their any toll bridges I have to pay for?
3.Is there a route to avoid the highway into the city?
4. How difficult is it to drive in Philadelphia? Are there lots of one-way streets and lots of traffic?

Any tips would be helpful! Thanks!!

If I were you, I would be on the road no later than 5:30. While it says it take about 2 1/2 hours, we have some traffic around 95 south near white Marsh and then getting on 270 N into Gaithersburg would be a little challeging. Plus you'll give yourself a cushion just encase you run into unexpected delays.

Might wanna think about taking public transportation instead if that's possible for you. Gaithersburg is a hike to travel for a job, so hopefully if you get it, you'll be relocating a lot closer. You could take Amtrak up there.

Once you get past Baltimore, white marsh tends to have delays in the morning. You may run into traffic in the Wilmington area, but normally after 8 or so it's not too bad. There are 3 tolls that I can think of on I-95. There's the one in Baltimore at $2. There's a $5 toll (North bound only) crossing the Susquehanna River, and there a toll crossing the MD/DE state line as well. I'm not sure between the state line and Philly if there's any.

You might want to check out the area your interview is in and how long does it take from I-95, plus check parking nearby as well. Personally, I would leave at 6:30am to give yourself more time for traffic and parking.
