There's a My Organic Market (MOM) in College Park. It's a good store. The Shopper's in College Park is better than some I've seen in MoCo.

Every time I drive through East Baltimore on my way to band practice, I fear for my life that I will get carjacked.

Montgomery county is the closest thing to smart people all getting along that you'll find.

Go explore then come back. You'll be even happier.
...this is a great post! My wife and I live in the metro Atlanta area now and it has not been what we thought it would be. We complained about a lot of things in Maryland but after leaving we found out we did not have it so bad.

White people are NOT fleeing where I live, and whites and blacks live quite harmoniously together.

And as was said, Fairfax, Arlington, and I believe Montco crime is up too. I'm so tired of people acting like those are the only decent places to live in the MD.VA suburbs.

Come down and see for yourself.
Notice where I live. If you had you would see that I do go to Waldorf.

Having said that I didn't say Waldorf was a bad place, just that crime levels have increased the last few years at a fairly high pace. That's not saying it's bad, just "here's the stats".

I have to agree that Waldorf isn't a bad place to live if you like tittie bars, Asian masssage parlors and rural traffic jams.

I know this is a horrible reason for me not to answer you VIVO, but this is a nice little corner of the world. And I don't want to encourage any more people discovering it.

I've mentioned it before. And don't know that I will again.

I totally agree with normie....I'm from MD but have travelled around the country so I had the chance to live and dwell in other cities. Honestly, please don't complain about MD because there are so many cities with high unemployment rate and a high(er) crime rate due to the unemployment. So yeah, even on days I feel like moving to another location I think about all the amenities right here (e.g., close to Washington, Baltimore, NYC, Philly, etc.). Great sports teams (Ravens, Redskins - you got Donovan McNabb now!)....lol! All in all it is starting to get expensive but I guarantee you it's not like Jersey or NYC...there are still a lot of things to be grateful for living here!

Well my friend when the first thing that comes out your mouth is that crime has increased at a "fairly high pace" that's saying a lot. It paints a picture of an area in a negative light. Now mind you I'm all for people sharing there experiences, but far too many times people are either overly negative or overly positive about a place. What I find a lot of times is that there are not enough balanced views of a city. Example. I use to live in Waldorf. It was a nice area. Good enough schools and at lot of options for shopping and reasonably priced homes. I moved from Waldorf because my commute really began to wear on me. Too many chain restaurants, too congested and it was just not my cup of tea. Do I recommend the town to people? Yes. Do I personally want to live there again? No. There you go a fair and balanced.
