I just graduated with History/Anthro degree I am an "older" grad. I am originally from Delaware, but don't want to live there for personal reasons. I have always liked Maryland especially the Eastern Shore. Can anyone help me with this one. I have been living on the Gulf Coast for the past 14 years and want to get back to the North East. I really want to relocate if someone could tell me what type of job I could get I would be so thankful.

You might be able to get a job at one of the many universities in MD but other than that I don't know what you could do... Your degree is pretty much a burger flipping degree...

I don't want to be discouraging but that's some reality. You could consider teaching but not at a university. You need more than a bachelors for that.

Teacher, archivist, part-time library worker. Speaking as a fellow history grad, you may need to go back to school to get an AA or some sort of job training.

I'm a history/anthropology major as well, and let me say that there are jobs out there. However, you do need to either have a masters degree, or at least 2 years of experience. If you want to teach, I recommend student teaching while you look, but if you want to teach at a college level you will need a masters at the very least. If you want to work in archives, libraries, museums, you will need to start by interning or volunteering somewhere so you can build experience, and it wouldn't hurt to go back and get your MA in museum studies. Keep checking places like h-net.org or the smithsonian website for jobs listing, but again they almost always require experience and/or a MA. You can also look up local historical societies for volunteering. And, with a history degree, you can work in archives for a business as well. I have friends that did that. I know everyone looks down on history majors, but if you do your research (which you should be excellent at by now) then you will find that there are in fact jobs out there.
