And what everyone doesnt' understand...IT'S TO FREAKING SMALL ..to have all this traffic. I drive on 70 everyday going back and forth to Frederick and I swear I'm gonna get killed by that dayum South Street exit. CLOSE IT ALREADY..and that crap isnt' going to be done anytime soon. By the time its done they will have to fix it all over again for all the people.

Aww, DC area isn't "Southern" enough for you anymore? You'll find your NASCAR and Travis Tritt concerts somewhere else, don't worry.

I missed this comment earlier. Why does this comment make me ill?

EXPGC,

What exactly is it about southern states that you so long for?

The good ole boys?

The Segregation?

Please, be more explicit.
Be magnanimous and give us he benefit of your insight.
Give us some details.

What is it exactly about southern state living that you miss?

Is it a time in history where us blackfolks remembered their place and if we didn't you kindly reminded us...?

Things have changed. And for many of us things have changed for the better.

Take heart, from what I hear there's still parts of MD that continue to embrace the southern ideals you lament over;
how about Hagerstown? Yes, Hagerstown

And if I'm wrongly assuming the point of your post I extend my apologies, but for the life of me you must be more explicit in your postings about Southern Living.

Maybe what he misses are people who aren't smarmy and smugly arrogant. Or it might have something to do with being tired of urban trash... ...

I love watching these rednecks in the DC area panic and run as they become marginalized around here. Northern Virginia is turning moderate and dominating politics down there as well; so long, racist George Allen.

Default The first G. A.

His daddy was a good coach. I went to Canton to see him inducted into the hall of fame.

To the rednecks and George Allen cronies running behind their tales out of NoVA, I'll say Hell Yes to that! Too bad I can't say the same thing about most of Maryland. As for expgc's lament about the Maryland of the south, the positive aspects of it are gone and exchanged with the crappy attributes of the north (rudeness, uneven income distribution, snobbishness). However, if you're looking for the good ol' boy system and segregation, those things are still in the state to this day.
