I just learned that Savoy, MA got 38" of snow during this recent mid-week storm. Could this be so? I guess I won't complain about the 10 1/2" we got here in mid Maine.

Sounds a bit much but they get a lot of snow. Savoy is almost 1800' in elevation and right in the snow belt that runs up through Searsburg VT.

Last week's snow broke records set in 1888. I am in North Adams, down in the valley, and we got 27-32" in my front yard. Savoy is much higher up. The highest point in town is the summit of Borden Mountain, at 764 meters (2,507 ft) above sea level. Average elevation 1700'.

We have a smaller storm due tomorrow, but snow as it might, we persevere.

We count our blessings we are not in Buffalo. I remind myself there are plenty of places snowier and colder.

And we have glorious skiing just 15 minutes away.

I don't know if i would call the beast glorious skiing, decent but far from glorious. My wife refers to it as Berkshire Ice. For me personally the best skiing within an hour or so from me is either MT Snow or Okemo MTN.
