today i recieved my first ticket for going 45 in a 30 zone. im 18 and i know my dads going to be pretty ticked off when or if he see's this on the insurance. i guess what im asking, is my insurance rate going to raise?

Appeal it. It's always worth a shot. Just check the "contest ticket" box and send it in. They'll send you a date (a few months from now) to go see a magistrate and plead your case. If it's your first offence, you might just get it dropped. Also, a court date is an excused absence from school so that's a plus.

If you don't contest it and just pay the fine, your rates will increase. It's always worth it to give an appeal a shot.

YOUR Insurance rate will increase, not your fathers. BUT if you are listed on his insurance then his premium will increase with yours until your removed from the policy. If you have your own car, insure it yourself. It's not worth the hassle any savings you get won't be worth the crap you take when you get tickets....ya that won't be the last one.
