My husband and I are seriously considering purchasing a house in Canton, MA. We have a young son, and we'll be commuting into Boston. Does Canton have good schools? Is it a safe town?? Thanks!!

We live next door in Sharon. I really like Canton. My son's therapist has been active with the school systems in the area for over 20 years, and is an expert on special education. He pulled his child out of Sharon schools and put him in Canton schools in high schools because he felt the school was better than Sharon.
Since I dont' live there I'm not sure of any cons.
Thanks so much! Do you live there? Any cons to living there?
Grew up in the surrounding area. Can't think of any cons other than the high price of real estate. Oh and expect to venture out of town for any sort of exitement (if that's a drawback).
I have three nephews and one niece who all attended Canton Public Schools (one's still there). Wouldn't have any problem recommending them. Two have since graduated college (Fairfield and UMass/Amherst), the third just entered BC.
Commute-wise, you have two stops. My sister cared for both of my kids when all of ours were young and I would park my car at her house and commute to Boston.
It's a very good location and a wonderful town.
