If I sign a lease to an apartment, what are the rules/regulations regarding changing my legal address?

Can I sign a lease in Massachusetts without changing my address (I have NH plates and license currently) to the apartments address?

You must change your address it within 30 days also turn your plates in and register in Ma.There's a lot of people who don't but you're rolling the dice if you get pulled over.I'm not sure how much the fines and tickets are but knowing Ma. I'm sure they're expensive.

There was an interesting story last August about a woman in Amesbury who neglected to cancel her New Hampshire license after moving to Massachusetts:

Your current address has no affect on signing a lease in MA, but yes you are supposed to change you license and registration over within 30 days. Especially when it comes to NH, because so many people register there stuff over the border to save money. If your car ins company is also in MA they can just switch you over and avoid that step but you will have to get MA plates. You don't have to "turn in" you old ones since in NH you own them.
