I'm going to Boston for business trip - I have Tuesday afternoon/evening free and want to take teen grandson to dinner - I can't drive after dark, so it needs to be somewhere not far from his home so we can eat, and I can get him dropped off and back on the highway to arrive in Boston before dark.

Any ideas? Time frame for drive?
What kind of place are you looking for? I don't know where you are staying in Boston, but Franklin to dowtown Boston in the evening would probably take 45 minutes to an hour.
I'm looking for any place where a teen boy would enjoy eating - I was looking for a Charlie Brown's, Outback, Chili's, Olive Garden. I already figured the time back "home" would be between 45 min to an hour - assuming I will get lost getting off 93 (as I always do).
If there was a mall nearby, I could give him that option too - but the only one I know of is far down 95 in Attleboro.
I was going to suggest Patriot Place in Foxboro as well! It's only about 10 miles or so from Franklin. They have the CBS Sports Scene Restaurant there. You can practically see into Gillette Stadium from inside. It's similar to the ESPN Sports Zone restaurant in Times Square in NYC (if you're familiar with that). I think a teenage boy would enjoy it.
Nope, it's not until 2nd week in June - Patriot's Place - I'll run that by him and see if he's heard of it - he's new to the area and I've never been.
And no, I'm not familiar with the place in Manhattan - I avoid the city as much as possible, except for the theater and an occasional dinner with friends. Oh my, guess I have some city trips to make with the grandson coming up. UGH! but I am willing to break my record of twice in a year to trudge into the city for him.
I would also suggest Patriot Place. CBS Scene would be my first pick. Bar Louie is OK but the "scenery" may be a little awkward for a teenage boy and his grandmother (attractive waitstaff and small clothing). If he's into Country Music (probably not), Toby Keith's I Love Bar and Grill opened up there not too long ago (I've never been... I detest country music).
Also there are Olive Garden and Red Robin (more common chains).
Patriot Place is very cool though. It's an outdoor pedestrian mall at the entrance to Gillette Stadium (home of the Patriots). I doubt he wouldn't like it.
Closer to Franklin is a Cracker Barrel right near the Wrentham Outlets.
My husband just bought me a Garmin to make sure I can get back and forth - going from high school to stadium and then to home, meeting Mom in the middle. So, he hasn't been online tonight, but I can't see him having a problem with Gram taking him to a mall - and whatever food he wants.
I really appreciate the help. Thanks.
