I have a job offer from Quincy,MA. They are paying 60k. I'll be relocating from NJ and have one daughter and husband. Can we survive with 60k in Quincy,MA? Thanks in advance.

I'm sure you can survive on 60g, but I'm assuming you're looking to rent. You can get some pretty affordable apartments there. If you wanta check some out, you can use craigslist or rent.com.
Welcome to the Boston area if you do move here.
Quincy's a real nice city.

I don't know much about Quincy, but my friends that live there seems to like it. I believe there are a good amount of young families and the commute via T to Boston is easy. If you are working in Quincy than looking for an apartment a bit further away from the T stops will probably get you more for your money.
I'm going to guess you're about to hear a bunch of people tell you there is no way you can survive on 60k in Massachusetts, but I'm going to bet it's actually a bit easier to live in Massachusetts on 60k than most parts of NJ. There are a bunch of threads on here about the various areas of Quincy that may be helpful in narrowing down what area you want to live in and how much to expect to pay in rent so you can budget.

Agree with Beth. You'll get some negative replies, but my family of 4 survives quite well on 60K in Massachusetts. Best of luck

Um, people, she alone is getting paid 60k. What about hubby's income? 60k alone is fine, just have your priorities in order.

Quincy is nice, lived here my whole life. Its one of the most convenient places to live in MA as far as I'm concerned in regards to access to the highway, subway, and what it has to offer by itself.
