Big Brother Big Sister Foundation will. You can schedule a pick up online or call 1-800-483-5503. The Epilepsy Foundation will also. They both take clothes, shoes, books, small household items, etc.
There's also St Vincent De Paul Society. I know you can drop stuff of but I'm not sure if they do pick ups.

The Salvation Army might pick up furniture. I think that is who I went through years ago to give away a couch.

VA - will pick up small household items, and you can talk to them about small / big furniture etc. Here's the phone number: 1-800-775-8387
You can also post on Craigslist free section. I had great results posting free items in appropriate for sale sections (say, a free table in "furniture for sale") - make sure you say FREE!!! in the title, and point out in the ad that the person is responsible for transport, taking it down stairs etc. You can also say that you would love for it to go to a charity, but I don't know how often they do check cl

Another thought, you can contact local shelters (say battered women shelter) and ask if they need furniture or anything else.

And I remember reading on GBAR news that Realtors® can bring small furniture items (own or their clients' items) to be donated to charity / homeless shelter etc. I am a Realtor but I never explored this option yet. If you have a realtor friend in the area they might have done it?

Hope this helps
