Tell me the best way to get North on a summer Friday afternoon (Natick: live in)

I live in Natick and work in Manchester, NH. I am not working this Friday but want to come up to my office for a family party Friday afternoon. Because of a doctor's appointment for my daughter at 3pm in Natick, we will not be able to leave any earlier than 3:30pm. Please tell me your super-secret backroads route for making it up to Manchester in any reasonable time. I don't want to miss the party but if it is going to take us 2+ hours to get up here, then it's not worth it.

It's no secret, but I would probably head west from Natick on the Mass Pike, pick up 495 North to Route 3 North and head on to Manchester. If you are out of Natick before 4:00 PM it shouldn't be too terrible.
