I am looking to get a school counselor position in Massachusetts in a year or so, I am going through the process of MA licensure. My question is, do you think when I am applying I should find an address for use in Massachusetts? I know people are less likely to hire out-of-state workers, and I just don't know whether it's worth finding a friend of a friend for me to use their address so that my resume isn't put directly in the "circular file" when I'm applying...

Thank you for your ideas!

I would just make it clear on your cover letter that you are willing to relocate for the position and reasons why you would like to work in the area you chose. When interviewing candidates for an administrative position in our town, we got many out of state residents who did just that. It made a difference. Good luck.
