Hello,

I got a job offer from North Falmouth, MA. Any suggestions where to live? At the moment I live in Oregon. Offer is worth going to east coast. I am 24 years professional and have girlfriend. We would like to some where close to action or young people, shopping malls.. We also have nothing against quite evening walking down the beach. I will need a ride, so thinking to get one when i arrive, but what can you tell me about public transportation?

Thanks a lot!
Lorenzo

There is the Cape Cod RTA but it's just bus service and I am not sure how it would work out for you into North Falmouth. There is one small mall on the Cape in Hyannis. If you are looking for night life Hyannis or Falmouth are your best bet but honestly, I wouldn't say there was a lot of "action". The Cape is not a hot spot off season. Cape Cod is known for having an aging population and I see that in the off season as well. Summer again is a different story when many young people come to work and play. However in winter you will find ample opportunity to get out and listen to music, explore outdoor pursuits, see theater productions etc but I am not sure if that is what you are looking for.

Thanks for your reply! Are you a resident of Cape Cod? If you would be in my situation, which town or village would you choose?

I do live on the Cape but I am over in Sandwich a very low key, conservative, family-centered community. I would suggest Falmouth. It has more going on than other areas, would be close to your employment in North Falmouth and is a year round community. You wouldalso have easy access to the highway and could easily go off Cape and spend an evening in Providence (once you get a car- it's a bit of a drive). You can also head over to the Vineyard on the ferry out of Woods Hole and if you are into bike riding, the bike path is terrific. Good luck with your move!
