Relocating to Quincy, MA early December 2011. I need to look for some apartments that are some what far away from sea. The reason is my wife has problem with sea or ocean, kind of Thalassophobia. She is fine for sight seeing but living near sea is the problem. My work place would be near to 02169 and looking for apartments the other side (not on the harbor side). Please suggest some decent apartments around $1100 - $1400.

Thanks for your time and suggestions.

Well marina bay is out of the question and so is anything around the beach...

Here's craiglist of the city and the price range
boston all apartments classifieds "quincy" - craigslist (http://tinyurl.com/83kly47 - broken link)

What about other factors like pets?

I used to live in the 02169 Quincy zip. That encompasses Quincy Center and South Quincy. How far away from the water do you need to be? If we're only talking a few miles from the water, somewhere like the Town of Braintree would work and still give you an easy commute.

I don't have any pets. I would specifically look for apartments with carpet rather wood floor. Since I've sinus and during winter being in wooden floor will make things worse. Right now in LA my living room has wooden floor and having lot of issues lately. Other than that I don't have any restrictions.

Thank you!

Around 10 miles away I would say. And also I don't want to go too far from my work place. Coz most of times i used to go home for lunch.

I'm feeling very sorry for asking suggestions with too many restrictions. I don't know anybody in boston, quincy to guide me. So before moving I would like to educate myself a little to handle the situation. Thank you very much for your suggestion.

The area around the Quincy Adams T Station is well away from the water and there are lots of commuters who rent around there.
