Hi all,

I am new to forum and I have got my first job in Danvers, and I am planning to move to the area in a month or so. So I have a few questions -

(1) What is the general state of expenses in this area? Would you consider it expensive.

(2) Is public transportation completely non-existent? I know there are trains to boston but what about traveling between suburbs?

(3) This is my most important question. What are the good places I can rent. I have a car and do not mind driving a few miles if I get a good place. My requirements for the place I live -
a. Safety first since I am totally new to this area.
b. Clean surroundings, I will have a regular 9 to 6 job, so I would like where I live to be some place I can relax - and not worry about neighbors/drugs/ bad landlords or property managers.
c. At the moment, I am looking for a 1 bedroom apartment for myself. Anybody know about good apartments in the area. I have looked at places online in Salem, Danvers, Peabody etc. Any particular favorites?
d. Last but not the least, any apartment hunting tips and words of caution with landlords and such.
My budget is around 1k$ for the apt.

Thanks a lot for your help.
