Thank you all for your great suggestions!

The main problem is the time, since it'll only be 6 days. My idea is:

Day 1 Arrive in Boston
Day 2 Boston
Day 3 Plymouth
Day 4 Martha's Vineyard
Day 5??
Day 6 Boston
Day 7 Departure from Boston

or

Day 1 Arrive in Boston
Day 2 Boston
Day 3 Plymouth
Day 4 Cape Cod??
Day 5 Cape Cod???
Day 6 Boston
Day 7 Departure from Boston

I do not know what do you think. If it's worth going to Martha's Vineyard or not or whether to use these days to drive and visit Cape Cod (Eastham, Chatham, Hyannis, etc).

Thank you!

I would skip the Vineyard and spend the time on the Cape. Now to confuse you even more, if you haven't spent much time in Boston or other historic towns in the area (Lexington, Concord, Salem etc), I would plan a day for that. So maybe drive down to the Cape, hit Plymouth on the way back?

Many thanks Beachcomber4. I think would be better to spent those days in the Cape instead of visit Vineyard.
Any recommended place to stay? I was checking the hotel rates and they are really high for May! Maybe a beb&breakfast...or perhaps there are towns with cheaper hotels...

Any recomendation is appreciated!!!

Have you tried Priceline or one of the other off price options? Are you a AAA member? Hyannis-Yarmouth- Dennis area will probably have the cheapest options but I did find some nice quaint spots (Daniel Webster Inn- in Sandwich for instance) for $112. That was on Priceline. You may even consider just waiting until you get here and just book a room at an inn or b&b that strikes your fancy. If the house isn't full, you can often negotiate a good deal. If you don't want to take a chance, call direct. A live person is more likely to drop their price for a guaranteed booking. Unless it is Memorial Day weekend, little will be sold out. Good luck!

Definitely do the Vineyard! Try cyberrentals or vrbo. You might pick up a small cottage or condo in May for a few $s.

How about this?

1) Arrival
2) Boston
3) Salem (& Gloucester?); Lexington/Concord
4) Cape Cod
5) Martha's Vineyard
6) Plymouth; Boston
7) Departure

This should cover the major attractions.

I would skip the Vineyard too. I would rather stick to the Cape. The Vineyard isn't all that exciting. Oak Bluffs has the oldest carousel in the US and Gingerbread houses. Other than that a tour of the island isn't worth the hassle of going out there for a day.

Thanks!!
I think I have ready my itinerary. Definitely I'll skip Vineyard because it is true that for one day perhaps is not worthwhile.

1) Arrival and night in Boston
2) Night in Boston
3) Night in Boston
4) Night in Plymouth
5) Night in Hyannis or West Yarmouth
6) Night in Boston
7) Departure

It's my first time in Bsoton and there are many sites to see. Then drive to Plymouth (Plantation, Myflower, etc) and then drive to the cape 2 days, 1 night...and back to Boston at night at the airport area.

Many thanks for your advices!!!

I'd say spend a couple of days and a night on the Outer Cape (Eastham, Welfleet, Truro, and Provincetown). At that end of the Cape it feels like the real Cape Cod, more nature, less residential, and PTown definitely has character and atmosphere, it's a fun town and definitely has more of a pulse and energy than pretty much any other Cape Cod town. You also have the Cape Cod National Seashore which is stunning. Welfleet is an especially beautiful town, get off Route 6 and explore it's back roads, harbor, beaches, marshland, and small town setting. To be honest I don't think there is all that much to do around Hyannis and Yarmouth, I really wouldn't reccomend it. They are mostly residential, Hyannis has a lot of chain stores and restaurants, and it's downtown isn't very exciting. The Outer Cape is the best by a long shot, it's the most scenic and interesting part of the Cape.

Salem and Gloucester are good for a day (skip Lexington & Concord, the North Shore is a lot more interesting). Gloucester is good if you want to see a nautical feeling working fishing seaport, neighboring town of Rockport is charming, lots of artists and art galleries there. Salem has shaped up to be a very eclectic city with great museums, shops, and restaurants. A good hotel to stay at in Salem is the Salem Waterfront Hotel. It's walking distance to most of Salems attractions and it's right by Pickering Wharf where there are good restaurants.

I would skip a night in Plymouth. You can honestly see the Plymouth Rock and Pilgrim Plantation in the matter of a couple of hours. After those short visits I would head down to the Cape and make it 3 nights on the Cape instead of two. I think you're going to be disappointed when you see the Plymouth Rock but Pilgrim Plantation is ok if you're never been before.
