We currently live in NH, but aren't very happy here. The people are far from friendly and the commute to Boston is a long one. Contemplating moving to Salem this summer. We are finding that rentals are few and far between. We are a young family with two kids and two dogs. Will more rentals (aside from student rental houses that have been trashed) become available as spring/summer arrives?

Could be tough with dogs. Maybe a pet-friendly realtor could help. My guess is any rentals that would open up on the student schedule might be either pretty beatup or really not allow dogs, due to people's careless dog ownership in the past (students somewhat infamous for that). It's tough with dogs. I didn't get them until I owned, just because I like their company so much. Best wishes.

I keep finding mixed reviews on that. People continue to say Salem is super pet, especially dog-friendly. Yet many rentals don't go for it.
