Warren may not be perfect (who is?) or part Cherokee (WHO CARES???!) but she's not a shil of the upper-class twit, Republican Party like Scott Brown, intent on gutting all services for the elderly, poor, children and health! That's good enough for me.
Warren not upper class? She makes upwards of 800k a year. She IS the 1%.
I haven't seen Scott Brown taking credit for "creating the intellectual foundation" of OWS while simultaneously being part of the 1% that movement seeks to destroy.
She's full of herself and a hypocrite.
I'm not a fan of either candidate but I'd rather Brown than Warren.
She is not the 1% any more than Obama. The 1% gain an average of 15-20 million dollars in net worth every YEAR and this rate is increasing in a non-linear fashion. The next 4% gain at 3-5 million per year so she's not top 5% either. The next 5%? 1-2 million per year, so she's not top 10% either. The next 10%? Just under a million a year. She *might* fall into this category, but I doubt it as she would have to have no expenses. Like Obama, she probably only paid back her student loans in the last ten years. The POTUS only paid back his student loans 6-8 years ago! So she's somewhere in the top half, maybe top third of the population, through years of slowly bettering herself.
Upbringings? Warren was born and raised in Oklahoma by a janitor and received a full merit scholarship to George Washington before finishing at Houston with a degree in speech pathology. She didn't attend law school right away and it was at Rutgers-Newark. I'm not saying she had the most tragic/difficult life, but it's at least on par with Brown if not worse. Brown attended Tufts followed by BC Law with no merit aid. I'm sorry, you don't attend these schools under these circumstances if money is of significant concern.
Look, I'm a major fan of either, but the posturing on both sides is getting a bit comical. The bottom line should be who can get the job done with as little demagoguery and ideology as possible. All I know is that it's a sad day when someone like Olympia Snowe gives up.
In practicality and almost every other measure, no, so she shouldn't have self-identified herself as one. I do have a friend whose great-great-great grandmother was the daughter of a famous Chickasaw figure (who was himself only half). She was raised in Orange County, blonde hair, blue eyes, and surfs - quintessential California girl, yet through her matrilineal bloodline, she is technically Chickasaw. Though she doesn't look the part, unlike Warren, she actively takes part in the culture, often flying to Oklahoma, and donates her artwork to the Chickasaw nation. She has also never used it in any type of formal self-identification but mentions its importance to close friends.
Scott Brown didn't make anywhere close to that. He was in the State Senate had had a small law practice.
I don't care what Elizabeth Warren makes - she's NO Indian.
You are incorrect, it's documented! Google it! And wrong on the second count, too. If a great-great-grandparent is of a particular ancestry, then you are, too! Simple fact. So, wrong on both counts

Brown started making Warren money after being elected to the senate and getting his book deal. Prior to that, he made about a third of what she made yearly.
And so... my grandparents are from Ireland, therefore I'm Irish?

The Globe said he made a little under $300,000 before he was elected.
Warren's Cherokee claim is based on family lore, not any evidence. I'm not saying she made it up, she may have believed it, but the longer she insists it's true, the sillier it makes her look.

Yeah, and he made about $840k in 2010 and about $511k in 2011.
And from what I've seen, she DID have a native American ancestor.
