I've researched both school districts. Per GreatSchools and schooldigger, they are equivalently good. However, Boston Mag ranks Belmont significantly below Lexington, which seems always to be in the top five.

Any feedback from people with kids in either school district? I'm particularly interested in any differences at the high school level.

Lexington is by far one of the shining stars of the whole state in terms of schools. I volunteer at their science fair for judging every year, and the talent displayed is really mind-blowing. I know that is one anecdotal example, but the numbers in general don't lie. If you can afford it, go for Lexington.
