So, I think we've narrowed down our choices to Foxborough and Easton. Would love to hear anything and everything about both towns, especially from people that live in them.
As I've posted before, we are looking to spend about $400,000 and would like a town where we can feel away from it all, but get to everything rather quickly. I have a son who will be entering the schools next year, so quality of schools is important, as well as safe neighborhoods, town activities (annual events?).
What areas of these towns are more desireable and should any areas be avoided?
(in your opinion) Is one of these towns considered Better than the other?
Neither really have areas to avoid, but keep in mind that Easton borders Brockton which is rough. Foxborough is surrounded by all nice towns. It's hard to say which is better, but personally I'd lean towards Foxborough.
Personally I prefer Foxboro. I don't live there but near it and I know families who do and they love it. The schools are quite good (compared to neighboring towns) and the town overall is family friendly. As far as areas to avoid, I would be wary of living anywhere too close to the stadium. The area is a traffic nightmare during games and concerts. Street parking for events at the stadium is prohibited on many side streets off of Route 1 but they are still very heavily traveled by patrons headed there. Some streets are also very busy on an ordinary day because many are used as cut-thru's by folks trying to get to Route 1.
I am less familiar with Easton but from what I do know of it, it's an ok town overall. The schools are not as good as Foxboro's and yes, it borders Brockton which is generally not a nice place. We are looking to move as well and we are not even considering Easton. There are too many towns in the area that are nicer and have better schools.
Oh and the regions charter school is in Foxboro also so that's another option as well as far as schools go. There is a waiting list miles long to get in but Foxboro residents get preference so that's another thing to consider.

Many turn that into an advantage by using their front yard as game parking, legally or not. The town has historically looked the other way in sympathy due to the additional aggravation stadium neighbors have to put up with.
Thanks for the responses so far...looks like Foxborough is in the lead. Would still like to hear more people chime in on Easton, Foxborough and now we're also considering Wrentham.
We moved to Foxboro last spring. I can't say enough good things about it. I have two children (7 and almost 5). The schools have been wonderful and the people here are so nice. There are alot of activities for families and children.
We live right off of 95 on the Sharon/Walpole end of Foxboro and I think the location is perfect. I work in Dedham and have have family in Walpole, Norton and Dedham. We are about 15 minutes away from them.
There are a couple of nice houses for sale in my neighborhood now right around 400k.
Good luck with your search and your decision!
Easton is much better than foxboro if your looking at schools don't go to foxboro
