My husband got a new job in Holyoke. We currently live in Charlton with our 4yr old twins, so a good school district is important to us. We like a rural-feel with views, but like to be within a 15 minute drive to certain amenities. We do like Charlton, but the 450+ miles he's racking up every week are a bit much.
We'd like to have a quaint town center with access to outdoorsie activities including playgrounds.
We have yet to visit any of the towns, although on a drive up to Yankee Candle in Deerfield last December, I loved the mountain views.

We're considering Westhampton, Southampton, Hatfield, Hadley, East Longmeadow, Agawam and Wilbraham. Hits? Misses? Looking to move next spring/summer. Will be looking for 4BR for $400K non-cookie cutter home.

Thanks!

If you want a good school district, it is not to be found in Easthampton. I'd say Wilbraham, E. Longmeadow, if you can find something within your price range. Easthampton is better than it used to be but I wouldn't send a child through that school system unless it's changed radically in the past ten years or so.

Why not South Hadley or Granby? Couldn't be much more convenient to Holyoke.
