I know people in Easton with goats and chickens. That would be the same commuter line as Attleborough.

There are a lot of towns right on the Framingham-Worcester line that would be ideal for you. As mentioned above, Grafton would be perfect (has its own T stop right off the vet school campus), as well as great resources there if you run into trouble with your animals. There's also an off-leash dog park there (my husband worked there for 5.5 years). Also worth considering in range of the T are certain parts of Marlborough, Hopkinton, Westborough, Ashland (my home town), and even Framingham has parts with a lot of land.
