I'm thinking of moving to Westford near North Chelmsford. I need to communte into Boston and Waltham. Does anyone know how long this would take during commuter times? Or can anyone recommend a route to take? Thanks!

I currently commute to Chelmsford and Rt.3 South looks pretty bad in the morning (I go in the opposite direction). When worked in Burlington and took night classes at UMass Lowell it used to take me ~45 minutes to get from 128 / 3 junction to Exit 30 (to Rt 495). There might be some local roads that're not as congested, but if you'll decide to stick with Rt. 3 your commute will be pretty bad.

If you can pick commuter rail in Acton or Concord and reach your destinations in Waltham in Boston without needing the car, you might be onto something.

By train, you are looking at a 30 min drive to the Littleton or Acton train stations plus the hour or so for the train ride. By car, I am picturing a 90 min to 2 hr ride each way. Any reason you are drawn to Westford/North Chelmsford?
