My family and I are thinking of moving to Westborough sometime this year and would like to get some opinion on the elementary schools in Westborough. We are a little concerned about having to move the children again - as all elementary school kids must change after 3rd grade to Mill Pond?

So basically are the elementary schools good in Westborough?

How is Mill Pond in particular? Is it not a very large school if all children have to go through there? How are the facilities etc?

Also how do they handle the transition? We would have one child who if we move to the area this year will only complete one year in elementary and then have to transfer to Mill Pond.

Thanks

All the elementary schools are excellent in Westborough. Mill Pond is a beautiful fairly new school and the facilities are extremely impressive. Your child will be at an advantage being in a smaller school and making friends in the neighborhood school prior to merging with the town. It is nice to make those friendships and feel part of a smaller community with kids who live so close by (not that the town is very large). We moved this year with my oldest starting 4th at Mill Pond, and she had no problems transitioning and all the kids are in the same boat of having to adjust to a new school so their is a lot of focus on getting them acclimated. Another positive (for me at least) is that 6th grade is part of elementary and not junior high.

When you visit the town you should call the schools and request a school tour.
